Found Letter: Astronomer Richard Proctor “The Poetry of Astronomy” Citizen’s Lecture Association

Richard Anthony Proctor was an English astronomer. He is best remembered for having produced one of the earliest maps of Mars in 1867 from 27 drawings by the English observer William Rutter Dawes.

This is a letter sent from Logansport Indiana in 1880, flaunting the coming of Professor Proctor. Proctor was traveling the United States giving his lecture on “The Poetry of Astronomy” or “The Birth and Growth of Worlds”.
